Use cases
Quote as a link instead of a PDF
Send your quote as a web page with a link instead of a PDF: clients pick options, see the timeline and can still save a PDF for their records.
Contents
A quote as a link is a web page instead of a PDF attachment: your client opens it with one click in the browser, picks options and sees the timeline. The PDF doesn't go away, because a button on the page saves the quote as a PDF for their records. With Visushare, you upload the HTML file from your AI tool and get a link that stays the same through every revision.
What is the problem with sending a quote as a PDF?
A PDF can't do the maths: the client has to work out what an extra option would cost. And if a price or a date changes, you send a new file. Soon "quote-final.pdf" and "quote-final-v2.pdf" sit side by side, and nobody is sure which one applies.
What does a quote look like as a web page?
The demo shows quote no. 2026-041 from the fictional "Studio Zweigipfel" to "Muster AG". The page is in German; open it with the "View demo" button above.
At the top are the total of CHF 5,200, the validity date (30 November 2026) and the line items, two of them optional. The client picks the scope, the options and the payment terms, and the total updates.
In the timeline, they choose a start week and see each phase with dates. At the end there's a link to confirm by email; the page sends nothing automatically.
Can my client still download the quote as a PDF?
Yes. The demo has a block labelled "Zum Ablegen" (for your records) with an "Als PDF speichern" (save as PDF) button, and the same button appears again before the confirmation. Your client files the quote with their selection.
Your AI tool can add this button to any quote: a page to decide on, a PDF to file. At Visushare we call this "show, don't explain"; read more on the About Visushare page.
"Then nothing is fixed anymore": how can my client trust me?
We've heard this objection in conversations: if the content behind the link can change, you could swap something out after sending. That's true, so a quote as a link needs a clear, binding version:
- The PDF is the binding version. Your client saves it with the button. When they confirm by email, you reply with your order confirmation and the same PDF attached, so you both hold the same copy.
- Number, date and validity are visible on the page. The demo shows quote number and validity; add the version date too, such as "Version of 3 November 2026".
- You announce changes. A line at the top says "New version of …" with a sentence on what changed, and your client gets a short message.
- Earlier versions are kept. Visushare keeps previous versions of your page, so if your client asks, you can show what was online before.
- Each format has its job. The page is for understanding, the PDF is for filing.
How to create your quote as a link
- Give your AI tool your brand. Upload your logo to Claude, ChatGPT or another AI tool and name your colours, font and design rules. Attach your style guide or an existing quote, and the HTML comes out in your own look.
- Provide the content. Line items with prices, options, timeline, quote number, date, validity and contact details.
- Ask for a PDF button and a confirmation link. Request a "Save as PDF" button and a link to confirm by email.
- Check the page. Open it on a laptop and a phone, recalculate the total and test the PDF.
- Upload it and send the link. Upload the HTML file to Visushare and share the link by email or chat, protected with a password or email verification if needed.
- When something changes: new version, plus a note. Replace the page, update the date and tell your client what's new. The link stays the same.

Frequently asked questions
How do I make sure only my client can see the quote?
Send the link only to your client and protect the page in Visushare with a password or email verification. Password protection is available for one page on the Free plan and without that limit from Solo; email protection starts with Standard.
What if something changes after I've sent the quote?
Upload a new version and it appears at the same link, even in the email you already sent. Update the date and tell your client what's new.
How can my client be sure I won't change the quote after sending it?
The binding version is the one they saved as a PDF and confirmed by email; send the same PDF back with your order confirmation. Announce any new version openly. Because Visushare keeps earlier versions, you can show what was online before if questions come up.
Can my client still download the quote as a PDF?
Yes, if the page has a button for it, like the "save as PDF" button in the demo. Ask your AI tool to add one. The PDF is for the records, the page for deciding.
How do I know if my client has actually opened the quote?
Analytics shows you how often and when your page was opened. The Free plan counts views; from Solo, Basic Analytics also shows details such as device and time on page. That tells you when to follow up.
Do I need to know how to code to create a quote as a web page?
No. Your AI tool builds the HTML page from your details, and Visushare turns it into a link, with no coding and no hosting of your own.
